Panerai Luminor base.

Panerai luminor base

The Panerai Luminor was created in the early 1940s. It was designed to meet the Italian army's requirements. This time piece was not just designed for the army but specifically for the Navy. It had to be obviously water-resistant but also extremely reliable. Maybe what gave the Luminor its unique and time proof design is its high underwater readability.

Though it is beautiful from the outside, the real marvel is inside. This is a traditional hand-wound mechanical movement, Swiss made, of course. You won't find find any bell nor whistle on this watch. Just like its design, it focuses on the basics and deliver a pure simple efficient experience. It does one this and does it well.
It is water-resistant to 300 metres, tested to 400 metres.

Another unique feature of this Luminor base is that you can can order it in a left-handed version. The design and movement remain identical but you will find the crown and protection bridge on the other side of the case. As Panerai explains :"It recalls the technical-functional ingenuity of some models supplied by Panerai to the Royal Italian Navy in the early 1940s: the lever device blocking the crown was fitted to the left-hand side of the case, meeting the needs of the Naval frogmen who wanted to wear the watch on their right wrist, since they already wore a compass or a depth gauge on the left wrist.
Panerai is widely distributed worldwide. Find more information at www.panerai.com
