The self defeating machine: the most useless machine ever!

"C'est bien plus beau quand c'est inutile" (It's much more beautiful when it's useless)! This is what Cyrano de Bergerac says in a 1897 play by French writer Edmond Rostand. Though he was not talking about our
modern times gadgets, this is quite a propos for this machine. These are what they called "self-defeating".
